The IT Business Process Analyst will help drive critical business decisions for IT leadership by providing insights using analytics and reporting using Power BI/Fabric and by helping to manage, automate, and streamline business processes, under the guidance of the Analytics Manager. In addition to technical skills, the analyst must have the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time well. A successful candidate will be naturally curious and willing to learn, have a strong technical education/background, strong experience with Microsoft Fabric and Power Platform (i.e. Power Automate and Power Apps), the ability to effectively communicate cross operationally, and possess a strong attention to detail.
Role summary:
Responsible for managing, automating, and streamlining business processes for IT using Microsoft Power Platform and supporting the Analytics Manager using Power BI.
The duties and responsibilities of the Business Process Analyst will be to manage and automate business processes, including providing feedback on how to update and improve them. They will support the Analytics Manager with analytics and reporting using Power BI. In general, the day-to-day activities of the Business Process Analyst may include the following:
- A solid understanding of data sources, data organization and storage
- Preparing reports and presenting these to management, demonstrating a solid understanding and interpretation of the data
- Identifying and recommending ways to improve business processes for IT
- Recommend new ways to use existing technology to automate business processes
- Create business tools, processes and reports that provide insight into key process and data points using Microsoft Power Platform
- Identify ways to improve processes to make them more streamlined and effective for the immediate team and for internal and external stakeholders
- Support applications and workflows developed to ensure seamless processing and uninterrupted service
- Communicating with stakeholders to understand data content and business requirements
- Continue to learn new technology as it comes out or is adopted by Grant Thornton to make recommendations on automating business processes
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business/information systems or a related field
- 3-5 Years experience with Visualization Tools required – Power BI/Fabric preferred
- 3-5 Years experience in no/low code application development and workflow automation using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate and Power Apps)
- Advanced Excel required – understanding of pivot tables, vlookups, and complex formulas
- Excellent Organizational and Planning Skills
- Advanced Communication Skills (various mediums (email, conversational and written)
- Advanced Microsoft Suite Skills (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
- Microsoft O365 required – Teams, SharePoint
- Azure DevOps experience a plus
- Some financial knowledge/education desired
- High Level of Attention to Detail
- Critical thinking
- Multi-Tasker
- Takes initiative and able to work independently
- Effective communicator with all levels of associates and management
