Job Description for Senior Financial Analyst
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. This is a 12-month contract position that requires the candidate to be based in Sligo.
Key Responsibilities:
* The preparation of accurate and timely quarterly management accounts will be the primary responsibility of the successful candidate.
* Statutory and Mandatory Accounts: The Senior Financial Analyst must ensure accurate and timely preparation of statutory and mandatory financial statements, keeping abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulations to ensure compliance.
* Audit: The candidate will assist with the annual external audit process, liaising with auditors as required.
* Cashflows: The Senior Financial Analyst will develop and maintain cash flow projections to support effective financial planning. Monitoring and analysing cash flow trends, identifying areas for improvement will also be a key aspect of the role.
* Budgets and Projections: The candidate will collaborate with various departments to develop annual budgets and financial projections. Monitoring budget performance, providing insights and recommendations for optimization will be an essential part of the job.
* Managing and Maintaining Stock: The Senior Financial Analyst will oversee the management and maintenance of stock levels, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Implementing controls to minimize stock discrepancies and losses will be a critical responsibility.
* VAT Returns: The candidate will prepare and submit timely and accurate VAT, Vies, Intrastat and RTD returns, staying updated on VAT regulations and advising on compliance matters.
* SAGE Transition: The Senior Financial Analyst will assist with the transition to SAGE accounting software, ensuring a smooth integration. Training and supporting team members on the use of SAGE for accounting functions will also be a key aspect of the role.
* Liaise with Revenue, Banks and Third Parties as required.
Requirements:
* A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is a must.
* Ideal candidates will have 2-3 years of relevant industry experience.
* A strong understanding of financial regulations and accounting principles is essential.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
* Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy is a must.
* Proficient in using accounting software, particularly SAGE, is necessary.
