A Head of Business Development & Sales is required by CareerWise Recruitment for our County Galway based client. The Head of Business Development & Sales will report to the General Manager or as directed by the Managing Director. They will be responsible for leading and managing Business Development and Sales as it expands in a niche market – Water or Pharma Business Development skills in a Technical Market would be ideal. The incumbent will also be responsible for the expansion through creating greater sales, generating sustainable profits, and ensuring the design of a definitive product offering. The role will be primarily based at our Head Office with travel to potential client sites and locations inside and outside of Ireland as required. It is a hybrid role, preferably with 1-2 days per week in the office. Must have an Irish Driving Licence.Role of this positionLeading the expansion by generating sales in Ireland, UK, and globally. The Head of Business Development & Sales shall develop a business and sales strategy for the company to be reviewed and implemented annually.Work with the Marketing team to produce a matching marketing plan to ensure the success of the sales plan.Develop relationships with supply chain partners (products/services) and customers.Keep informed of emerging industry trends in technology.Supervise, lead, and mentor staff as required.Work with the Design and Delivery Departments to ensure that company products are incorporated into all projects.Collaborate with the Commercial Department to help manage the budget, project commercials, and ensure profitability.Attend Engineering Department meetings, progress meetings, and other meetings as required. Produce monthly sales status reports as needed.Travel and attend foreign and domestic conferences and tradeshows.Perform other duties as required by the General Manager.Job RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or Science, plus suitable experience.Proven track record in delivering sales and profits.Experience selling a technical product into the Water Industries.Knowledge of technical products in Pharma Processes would be advantageous.Commercial awareness.Experience in generating sales or growing businesses.Ability to work on multiple assignments.Effective time management and communication skills.Excellent oral and written reporting skills.Good understanding of quality, environmental, and safety management systems.Strong understanding of regulatory aspects within the water and wastewater industry.Good people skills and a team player.Full clean Irish/EU driving licence.
