Responsibilities
* Act as a commissioning agent for Mechanical systems, including cooling/heating, plumbing, fire, fuel oil, and BMS systems in various environments.
* Manage projects, develop plans, review specifications and drawings, and execute assignments in a multidisciplinary engineering commissioning role for large facility projects.
* Review design criteria, equipment submittals, and documentation relevant to commissioning.
* Adhere to quality management and QC processes to validate and document systems.
* Gather documentation, drawings, and data from clients, vendors, and contractors.
* Develop site-specific commissioning plans and review factory witness test procedures for major equipment.
* Attend factory tests and report deficiencies in detail.
* Lead commissioning meetings, ensure proper documentation, and develop functional tests for various mechanical systems.
* Maintain commissioning logs, checklists, and write comprehensive final reports.
* Manage external resources, schedule meetings, and participate in construction and coordination meetings as needed.
* Interface with clients, contractors, vendors, and project teams; execute assignments and communicate effectively.
* Submit progress reports and meeting notes to project and facility managers.
* Respond to customer inquiries professionally to exceed expectations.
Skills & Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military/industrial training with 3+ years of experience in mechanical/controls engineering, energy services, plant operations, or construction management.
* Previous experience in data centers or mission-critical environments.
* Experience with commissioning or maintaining electrical and mechanical systems.
* Excellent communication skills, especially working with general contractors.
* Knowledge of industry regulations, codes, standards, and construction materials and methods.
