Position Title: Kitchen Porter
Reports To: Kitchen Porter Supervisor and Senior Chef on duty
General Description of Role:
Reporting to the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, Senior Sous Chef & Executive Chef you will maintain a high level of operational hygiene in the kitchen, including yard, corridor areas in compliance with hotel and hygiene regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Report to work on time, clocked in, and in proper and clean uniform.
Personal appearance and grooming must conform with standards as laid down in employee Handbook and policies.
Maintain a high level of personal hygiene (ie change aprons/hats etc as required) throughout the duty shift.
To take responsibility for the cleanliness of all kitchen areas, ensuring high levels of cleanliness at all times.
To use and store correctly all chemicals and cleaning materials.
Wear relevant protective clothing provided when handling hazardous materials.
To empty rubbish bins when full or as requested.
Carry out cleaning duties as outlined in cleaning schedule and complete daily/weekly cleaning checklists for all cleaning tasks performed.
Cleaning of pots, pans, equipment etc as required and ensure they are stored correctly.
Maintain storage area for mops, brushes, detergents in a clean and tidy manner.
To ensure that broken glass/bottles are put in a separate bucket and emptied at the end of every shift.
To report any maintenance faults to a Supervisor immediately.
To carryout instructions from the Head Chef, or his deputy, regarding special cleaning arrangements such as cleaning, stores, drains, ceilings, other projects etc.
To assist with any other cleaning duties requested from the Head Chef, whether in the kitchen or in another department.
