Job Title: Senior Nursing Manager
Job Summary:
The role of the Assistant Director of Nursing involves supporting the Director of Nursing in managing daily clinical and operational aspects of a nursing home.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the Director of Nursing in overseeing nursing services and staff management to ensure high-quality care delivery.
* Maintain compliance with HIQA standards, national health policies, and relevant legislation to guarantee quality patient care.
* Implement effective infection control measures and document accurately.
* Support, supervise, and develop nursing staff by promoting professional growth and development.
* Contribute to recruitment processes, rostering, performance evaluations, and team leadership to drive organizational excellence.
* Engage effectively with residents, families, and other stakeholders, prioritizing dignity, autonomy, and resident choice.
* Collaborate in audits, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives and deputize for the DON when necessary.
Requirements:
* Holding an active registration as a Registered General Nurse (RGN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
* A minimum of three years of experience post-registration in nursing management or a similar setting, preferably within aged care facilities.
* Knowledge of HIQA Standards, National Standards for Residential Care Settings for Older People in Ireland, and applicable legislation is essential.
* Possession of leadership training and/or a management qualification, such as QQI Level 6 in Management, is desirable but not mandatory.
