We are looking for a Linux-first Platform Engineer to own, operate and improve our Linux-based platforms and services. This role is focused on OS-level Linux engineering, platform reliability, automation and system operations, rather than application feature development.
You will work closely with development, infrastructure and operations teams to ensure Linux systems are secure, stable, well-automated and production-ready.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is strongest at the Linux layer, comfortable in the terminal and experienced running real systems in production.
Location - Dublin South
Salary - €65,000 - €85,000
Ideally on site, would consider remote

Key Responsibilities
Linux Platform Engineering
* Install, configure and maintain Linux servers
* Perform OS-level troubleshooting, performance tuning and system optimisation
* Manage system services (system), logs, processes, users, permissions and filesystems
* Apply security hardening, patching and configuration standards
* Support production platforms, including out-of-hours or escalation support when required

Required Skills & Experience (Must-Have)
Core Linux
* Strong, hands-on experience as a Linux Systems / Platform Engineer
* Deep knowledge of Linux internals: services, networking, storage, permissions, logging
* Comfortable troubleshooting issues directly on production Linux systems
Automation
* Strong experience with Ansible for system automation
* Confident Bash scripting for operational tooling and diagnostics
* Python would be advantageous
Containers
* Practical experience running and supporting Docker-based workloads
* Understanding of container networking, volumes and host interaction
Operations Mindset
* Experience supporting live production environments
* Comfortable with incident response, root-cause analysis and system reliability
