Technician III – Structural Heart R&D
The technician supports the development of next-generation transcatheter heart valve devices. This hands-on role focuses on testing, equipment maintenance, and prototype support in a fast-paced, innovative medical device environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Perform testing, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of medical device components and equipment.
2. Support and lead device test planning, execution, and root cause investigations.
3. Execute R&D Engineering Build Requests, including inventory and build management.
4. Operate lab equipment, prepare compounds/solutions, and report test results accurately.
5. Interpret and work from schematics, engineering drawings, and instructions.
6. Create and assist in the development of R&D prototypes across multiple product teams.
7. Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards throughout all activities.
Requirements
8. Diploma (Level 7 NFQ minimum) in Engineering or Science, with 1–2 years' relevant experience in a medical device, lab, or operations setting.
9. Familiarity with test methods, lab/test equipment, and technical documentation.
10. Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
11. Experience managing R&D build requests, inventory, and related documentation.
12. Team player with a high standard of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
13. Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
