We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work on a project in the green energy industry.
The Project: Electric Vehicle Charging Optimization
You will be part of a distributed team developing new technologies to solve real business problems for one of the leading green energy companies in the UK. The team's goal is to make electric vehicle (EV) charging more efficient and cost-effective by integrating smart charging solutions that shift EV charging to times when energy is cheaper and greener.
This approach helps balance the load on the grid and reduces costs for consumers. You will be part of the team responsible for making this vision a reality.
Your Role and Responsibilities
1. You will contribute to creating solutions that optimize when and how EVs are charged.
2. You will be involved in the full lifecycle of projects, from initial concept to deployment and ongoing support.
3. You will code and deploy applications using Scala on an AWS-based ecosystem.
4. You will write well-tested, efficient, and maintainable code.
5. You will ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application.
Requirements and Qualifications
1. You must be a hands-on engineer with expertise in Scala.
2. You should have experience working with AWS.
3. You should have knowledge of Event Driven Architecture using Kafka.
4. You should have knowledge of DevOps methodologies and continuous delivery.
5. You should be genuinely passionate about developing products that positively impact people and the environment.
6. You should enjoy working in teams and collaboratively building features that impact customers.
7. You should be motivated by owning products from inception to continuous improvement.
Nice to Have
1. Experience working with Aurora.
2. Experience in cloud environments using GCP.
