St. Joseph's Foundation is a voluntary organisation providing comprehensive services for people with intellectual disabilities. Founded in 1968, the Foundation has grown through continuously responding to the needs of people with intellectual disabilities and their families. The Foundation provides services to children and adults through day services, residential, respite care, and home support in the North Cork and South West Limerick regions. We operate in various locations such as Charleville, Dromina, Newtownshandrum, Buttevant, Newmarket, Mitchelstown, and Mallow in Limerick; Ballylanders, Ballyagran, Bruree, Bruff, Croom, Dromcollogher, Granagh, Kilmallock, and Liskennett.
Position Details

Essential Qualifications & Requirements
* QQI Level 5 qualification in healthcare or a relevant field (Full award)
* Experience working with children/adults with intellectual disabilities
* Full manual driving licence and access to own transport
* Flexibility and teamworking skills
* Passion for supporting individuals with disabilities
Job Goal
To assist the Line Manager, support service users, and develop their strengths to the best of their ability.
Responsibilities
* Physical care including dressing, hygiene, toileting
* Facilitate leisure activities, emphasizing community involvement
* Support and supervise service users in daily activities and monitor progress
* Recognize and report issues; assist in relevant interventions
* Work constructively with challenging behaviour; contribute to planning
* Transport service users to various activities and appointments
* Support training of staff and volunteers
* Maintain reports and a clean environment
* Support service users outside of St. Joseph's, including holidays and hospital stays
* Assist with therapy pool activities, following safety protocols
