Role Overview
As our new Senior Manager PR, Corporate Affairs & Sponsorship, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact with one of Ireland's leading financial services brands. You will be a key part of a dynamic team, working alongside colleagues who have won multiple All-Ireland Marketing and European Sponsorship Awards.Purpose of the RoleYou will lead the development and execution of Irish Life's public relations and sponsorship strategies, enhancing and protecting the brand's reputation while supporting business objectives. This role provides strategic leadership to the PR and Sponsorship team, ensuring alignment with the company's values and vision. You will be responsible for managing high-profile campaigns, partnerships, and stakeholder relationships, playing a pivotal role in shaping the public perception of Irish Life.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Team ManagementLead, motivate, and develop a team of 3 (1 PR Manager, 2 Sponsorship Specialists), fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.Set clear objectives and KPIs for the team, ensuring delivery against business and brand goals.Oversee team development, coaching, and succession planning.Public RelationsDevelop and implement PR strategies and campaigns to enhance Irish Life's reputation and support business objectives.Oversee management of reactive and proactive media communications, ensuring alignment with corporate messaging.Maintain and evolve the corporate narrative and proof points.Monitor media coverage, analyse sentiment, and report on PR performance.Advise and brief senior stakeholders on communications issues, opportunities, and crisis management.Sponsorship ManagementLead the development and execution of sponsorship strategies, ensuring alignment with brand values and business priorities.Oversee the management of sponsorship assets, relationships, and activation plans.Evaluate sponsorship opportunities and partnerships, ensuring maximum brand impact and ROI.Support the delivery of high-profile sponsorship events and campaigns.Stakeholder Engagement & CommunicationsBuild and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, business units, partners, and agencies.Oversee the preparation of stakeholder reports, presentations, and communications materials.Support internal communications to staff, customers, and partners.Campaign & Content OversightOversee the development of campaign briefs, content, and storytelling assets, ensuring consistency and alignment with brand guidelines.Ensure integration of PR and sponsorship activity with wider marketing, digital, and social media campaigns.Crisis & Issues ManagementMaintain and update the crisis communications plan, ensuring readiness and effective response to reputational risks.Act as a senior advisor in crisis situations, supporting the Head of Brand, PR and Sponsorship.
What you will need to be successful in the roleBachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related discipline.Extensive experience (typically 7+ years) in PR, sponsorship, or brand communications, with a proven record of leading high-performing teams.Demonstrated expertise in managing PR agencies, Events/Activation agencies, engaging senior stakeholders, and working with brand ambassadors.Proven ability to develop and execute integrated PR and sponsorship strategies across paid, owned, and earned media in fast-paced, dynamic environments.Highly proactive, detail-oriented, and results-focused, with a strong ability to deliver under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Exceptional project management, organisational, and multitasking skills.Experience within the financial services sector (either in-house or agency-side) is highly advantageous.Outstanding writing, editing, and storytelling capabilities, with a flair for crafting compelling narratives.About usIrish Life is one of Ireland's largest financial institutions with a presence across a range of financial services markets.
