Purpose of Role: Reporting to the Head of Operations, provide strategic and hands-on leadership of our site-wide maintenance. Support our production facility with maintenance tasks such as machine maintenance and repair, fault finding and troubleshooting, continuous production process improvement and implementation of preventative maintenance programmes. Responsible for the safe and efficient execution of planned and unplanned maintenance of plant and utilities in compliance with the Company’s Quality standards.
You will be proficient in all aspects of industrial maintenance including mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, automation and experienced in stainless steel equipment repairs.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage all maintenance operations to support production targets and site performance.
* Carry out a range of technical duties to cover mechanical, electrical and general building fabric maintenance.
* Proactively identify and remedy equipment maintenance issues to maximise equipment uptime.
* Service electrical, mechanical and non-technical equipment.
* Ensure all maintenance checklists are updated regularly.
* Oversee the site’s Preventative Maintenance as per the Maintenance department plan.
* Assist and manage subcontractors as required.
* Spare parts identification and regular stocktaking.
* Lead and develop our Maintenance Team of Technicians through effective leadership and training.
* Mentor production team by providing technical advice and support to achieve maximum machine performance.
* Work closely with the Quality team in preparation for and during various inspections.
* Collaborate across all departments to ensure optimal efficiencies.
* Drive the implementation of the new Maintenance System in 2026.
* Ensure compliance at all times with Health and Safety and legislative requirements. Maintain an internal ‘Best Practice’ regime and encourage continuous improvements.
* Promote and maintain a safety-first culture across all maintenance activities.
Qualifications
* 3 years’ proven experience in a Maintenance Management role in an industrial maintenance environment, preferably within the food industry.
* Third Level/trade qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
* Strong Electrical background essential.
* Proven track record in preventative and reactive maintenance in a similar role.
* Critical thinking ability to troubleshoot and project management experience for equipment upgrades and installations.
* Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
* Excellent knowledge of safety precautions.
* Methodical, analytical and enthusiastic approach to work with excellent attention to detail.
* Knowledge of current legislation relevant to food manufacturing, quality compliance and Health & Safety.
* Ability to respond to crisis situations efficiently and professionally, using sound judgement.
