Location: Galway - East of the city, own transport required | full-time with 3-4 days onsite
Salary: €55,000 – €75,000 plus benefits. Please note the salary range is intentionally broad - we are open to experienced HR Generalists ready to take a step up, or established HR Business Partners looking for a standalone challenge. The scope and expectations of the role will flex to reflect the experience of the right candidate. If you're earlier in your career, you won't be expected to walk in and operate at full BP level from day one - there is genuine room to grow into this role.
The Role
This is the first dedicated HR hire in the business - a genuine opportunity to own the people function and make it your own. You'll be the go-to HR person for the Galway-based operations team, partnering closely with senior leaders and line managers on everything from day-to-day HR queries to building out people practices that will scale with the business. The role is broad by design, and will suit someone who is equally comfortable with the operational side of HR as they are influencing upwards and driving things through with senior stakeholders.
About the Company & HR Function
Our client is an innovative Irish MedTech business with a strong clinical track record and an exciting commercial journey ahead. The company has operations in Galway and Dublin, with a growing presence in the US. They're at a real inflection point - transitioning from a development-stage organisation into a commercially focused, production-led business - and this hire is central to supporting that growth.

Develop and review HR policies and procedures — practical and accessible, not just documented
Support line managers with employee relations matters, offering grounded, pragmatic advice
Drive employee engagement and contribute to a positive, inclusive culture
Occasional travel to the Dublin office to stay connected with the wider leadership team
What We're Looking For
Minimum 4–5 years' broad HR generalist or HRBP experience
Demonstrated ability to operate independently and make confident HR decisions
Comfortable being the primary HR contact - you don't need a team around you to thrive
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills - credible at all levels
Hands-on, pragmatic approach - you solve problems and drive things through
Background in a regulated environment - MedTech, life sciences, medical devices, manufacturing or healthcare
Exposure to HRIS implementation or rollout
L&D or people management training background
