Quantity Surveyor - Public Sector

The role requires a highly experienced Quantity Surveyor with a minimum of 5 years experience to manage and oversee cost control for a range of construction and infrastructure projects.
The successful candidate will ensure projects are delivered within budget, and all aspects of procurement and cost management comply with state regulations and standards. The role will cover all aspects of quantity surveying and cost management across our entire portfolio of civil engineering and electrical projects.
Responsibilities
* Manage project costs throughout all project phases, including preparing estimates, bills of quantities, assessing variations, managing contractor payments, and finalizing accounts.
* Lead tender assessments, evaluations, and negotiations, and support the preparation of Framework Tender Documentation in collaboration with the Procurement team.
* Collaborate in pre-qualification and tender evaluations, while also delivering commercial awareness training to site personnel and project teams.
* Conduct site evaluations and commercial audits, as well as analyze data from past projects and work programs to extract lessons learned and offer budgeting insights for future initiatives.
* Monitor and forecast OPEX and CAPEX programs, while producing and interpreting reports for stakeholders.
* Promote a strong safety culture by visibly advocating for safety management across all activities and ensuring strict adherence to Quality Procedures on all projects.
* Mentor junior staff members and support their professional development within the team.
Requirements
* A Level 8 Degree in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent qualification.
* Minimum of 5 years experience in Quantity Surveying.
* Self-driven with strong project management skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with colleagues.
* Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions, applying both logical reasoning and creative problem-solving.
* Strong teamwork skills with a focus on knowledge sharing and collaboration.
* Commitment to delivering high-quality work with attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Extensive experience in administering major contract conditions, including FIDIC, GCCC, NECC, or similar.
* Strong report writing skills.
* Proven results-driven mindset with a focus on customer satisfaction.
* Flexibility in work approach, with a willingness to travel nationwide as needed.
* Possession of a full, clean EU driving license and access to a vehicle.
