National Development Manager
The Camogie Association is seeking a National Development Manager as part of the Associations Senior
Leadership team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development, participation, retention and games
related strategies of the Association, driving growth, engagement and improving standards across the coaching
and games aspects of the Associations work.
The National Development Manager will report to the CEO, and will lead the staff team in the Development
function of the Association, with responsibility for developing and implementing strategy in the following
Areas
Key Responsibilities of the role include
Technical and Research Development Design. lead and implement the Associations National Development
& Strategic plans
Participation & Retention Design & oversee key strategies, programmes to drive growth, participation and
player retention
Games Development - Build and support strategies to provide age appropriate and meaningful games
programmes across the Association
Strategic Planning & Implementation - Develop and deliver annual development work plans in line with
National Development plan objectives
People Management - The management and support of the development team, ensuring their ongoing
motivation and performance delivery. Working as part of the Association senior management team, to
support the ongoing operation of the Association.
Oversight of Development Budget Lead development budgeting and financial planning,
ensuring compliance with financial procedures. Identify potential funding opportunities and
completion offunding applications.
Required Criteria
A degree ore equivalent level 8 qualification in relevant to sports science, education or other relevant area
Three years comparable work experience of leading, motivating and guiding staff, through
continuous development, towards strategic outcomes and objectives
Advanced knowledge of and experience of the fundamental requirements associated with the
technical development of sport from grassroots to elite/intercounty levels
Detailed knowledge of player, coach and referee development pathways in sport
Ability to define and develop a technical strategy
Demonstratable experience of preparing budgets and reporting financial and operational
performance against targets
The Successful Candidate Will Also Have The Following
Current full clean driving license, insurance, and access to own transport.
The appointment will be subject to Garda/PSNI vetting clearance.
Desirable Criteria
The Following Will Be Advantageous To Applicants
Knowledge of Camogie/hurling coach education processes and materials
Knowledge of Camogie/hurling referee education processes
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other IT related packages
Knowledge and/or experience of adult learning methodologies
Experience of developing tutor and/or coach and/or referee education materials
Previous playing experience of Camogie/hurling

Location this role is based in the Camogie Association Offices beside Croke Park, Dublin
Job type: Permanent (subject to 6-month probationary period).
Working hours: Hours of attendance will be as fixed from time to time but will not amount to less than 39 hours
per week. The successful candidate will be required to work such additional hours from time to time as may be
reasonable and necessary for the proper performance of their duties subject to the limits set down in the working
time regulations.
This role requires flexibility and will entail out of standard office hours working.
The responsibilities and accountabilities might differ from those outlined, and other duties as assigned might be
