This role reports directly to the Operational Coordinator and involves working in a team to screen babies in their first few days of life. The ideal candidate will be reliable, possess good communication skills, and be comfortable working with mothers and very young babies. The focus is on delivering a family-friendly yet professional experience during the screening process.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Promote a professional, welcoming, and caring environment, endorsing a family-friendly approach to care.
* Communicate with and provide information to parents regarding hearing screening and obtain parental consent.
* Carry out hearing screenings of newborns.
* Inform parents of the screening outcomes according to NHSP protocols.
* Accurately record clinical and test data and ensure timely transfer of information to the manager.
* Maintain patients' and families' dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
* Be aware of child protection issues and adhere to local procedures.
* Keep up-to-date with procedures and policies relevant to the role.
* Ensure the safety and security of equipment, reporting any issues promptly.
* Participate in rotas to cover staff absences and work flexibly as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Proven experience working with people.
* Strong IT skills are essential.
* Healthcare background is desirable.
