TITLE: Laundry Attendant
REPORTING TO: Accommodation Manager, Accommodation Supervisors and Hotel Management
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To provide an efficient cleaning and hygiene service to the hotel equipment, linen, and uniforms - thus presenting a clean and fresh environment to approved MHL Company standards for the comfort of our guests.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Attend or read the handover briefing at the beginning of your shift to ensure that you are aware of any special requirements for the day.
* Follow all standards as outlined in your department Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) documents.
* Maintain an efficient laundry service for the hotel in accordance with company procedures.
* Maintain company uniforms to the highest standard.
* Greet Guests with a welcoming manner.
* Comply with all Company policies and procedures as outlined in your Team Member Handbook and new policies and procedures as introduced from time to time.
* Assist in the documentation of all quality standards and the adherence to these standards.
* Service rooms allocated to you each day to the standards required by the Hotel.
* Ensure that any special requests from guests are adhered to.
* Communicate our services and facilities to customers as required.
* Daily, weekly, monthly and yearly cleaning is carried out as requested by Management.
* All public areas such as corridors, stairways and fire exits are cleaned and well maintained, clean glass in doors, radiators, pictures and any other equipment that is in the corridors.
* Your housekeeping trolley should always be adequately stocked and clean.
* Never leave your housekeeping trolley or vacuum cleaner unattended.
* Report any maintenance requirements to your Manager / Supervisor.
* Control the amount of equipment, cleaning materials and customer supplies used in all rooms.
* Ensure that all glass, crockery and rubbish is removed from rooms.
* A high level of security at all times regarding Master Keys and bedrooms.
* Respecting guests and colleague's privacy at all times and maintaining a high level of confidentiality
* Report any suspicious behaviour of a customer to a member of the Management Team.
* Adhere to all purchasing and stock control systems and procedures in place in the Hotel.
* Ensure that the Housekeeping Storerooms and Linen Rooms are always kept clean and tidy.
SERVICE STANDARDS
The quality of the services we provide are central to the future success of the Company and vital to earning a loyal customer base.
* Give a good first impression to the customer by reporting for duty on time and ensuring that you wear the required clean uniform (including name badge) and that you maintain the highest level of personal and work cleanliness and hygiene.
* Have a detailed knowledge of room types and be knowledgeable of the requirements for each room.
* Be aware of, recognize and acknowledge 'regular and repeat' customers.
* Listen carefully to any customer complaints and resolve them efficiently in a professional manner.
* Where complaints are serious or outside your level of authorization, refer to a Manager.
* Ensure that all guest feedback (negative, positive, constructive) is communicated to Management immediately to allow appropriate action to be taken.
* Deal with all company property in accordance with company policies.
* Deal with lost property in accordance with Company procedures.
HEALTH & SAFETY
* To ensure that reasonable care is taken for the health and safety of yourself, your colleagues, customers and any third-party service providers on the premises at all times.
* To participate in fire drills and any other health and safety training as required by the company and the law.
* Adhere to all regulations in respect of health and safety, customer safety, fire regulations, emergency procedures and chemical safety.
* Full compliance of all aspects of GDPR relating to both employees and guests.
* Report all breaches of GDPR immediately to hotel management.
* Report any defects, damage, theft, breakages or hazards to ensure that equipment is functioning and well maintained.
* Secure the company's stock and property, and ensure all keys are included in the hotel key system.
* Ensure that any cleaning and maintenance issues are reported to the appropriate person in accordance with Company procedures.
* Ensure that to maintain your work area in a clean, tidy and safe manner at all times.
* Ensure that any incidents or accidents are reported to the relevant Manager and recorded in accordance with the Company Accident Reporting Procedures.
* Be aware of trained First Aid Team and the location of First Aid equipment.
