Job Summary
The Red Hat Trusted Artifact Signer team is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join our team. Trusted Artifact Signer (RHTAS) is part of Red Hat's Secure Supply Chain portfolio, which includes Trusted Profile Analyzer (RHTPA), Trusted Application Pipeline (RHTAP), and Dependency Analytics (DA).
In this role, you will lead the development, testing, and support of Red Hat’s Trusted Artifact Signer product, focusing on integrating AI model transparency based on the Sigstore Model Transparency project. You will define architecture, develop features, fix bugs, and mentor team members, working closely with a distributed team across various related teams.
What You Will Do
* Lead the integration of AI model transparency into RHTAS, including model signing, verification, and attestations.
* Coordinate with team leads, architects, and engineers on design and architecture.
* Participate in peer code reviews, CI processes, and security threat responses.
* Ensure compliance with Product Security requirements.
* Work with the QE team to ensure thorough testing and release readiness.
* Collaborate with partner teams to improve the product, processes, and customer experience.
* Mentor peers and less experienced team members.
* Assist Red Hat's Global Customer Support and partner support teams in resolving issues.
* Build domain knowledge in Secure Supply Chain, focusing on signing, verification, and attestation of AI models.
* Publicize team work via blogs, conferences, etc.
What You Will Bring
* Proven experience in designing, developing, testing, and delivering enterprise software products.
* Experience with open source communities and upstream development.
* Experience with Go; familiarity with Python and Node.js is a plus.
* Familiarity with AI model development.
* Strong understanding of cloud computing and Kubernetes.
* Excellent English communication skills.
* Strong analytical, design, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
* Self-directed with strategic thinking abilities and capable of influencing product direction.
Preferred Skills
* Knowledge of cryptography, including digital signatures, keys, and certificates.
* Familiarity with the Sigstore project.
* Experience with the Ansible project and tooling.
