ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Rathgall facility in Carlow is a premier, state-of-the-art site designed to support and advance our best work in vaccine manufacturing. By combining cutting-edge technology with a dynamic, activitybased workspace, this facility promotes seamless collaboration and operational excellence. We are currently seeking a Mechanical Technician to join client team. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Lead, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting process equipment and instrumentation systems to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient vaccine production.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide technical support for maintenance, installation, calibration, and modification of production equipment (MAMF qualified).
• Operate and clean process equipment as required.
• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot equipment faults, and drive Total Productive Maintenance initiatives.
• Schedule and manage equipment shutdowns effectively to minimize downtime.
• Complete planned and emergency work orders and ensure proper documentation of all maintenance activities.
• Monitor production equipment using MES/DCS and PLC systems to ensure consistent and efficient operation.
• Maintain and repair systems such as autoclaves, glassware washers, HVAC units, isolators, filling and inspection lines in a cGMP environment.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, equipment layouts, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Lead and contribute to continuous improvement efforts, root cause analysis, and change control implementation.
• Collaborate with vendors for parts procurement and system upgrades.
• Assist in facility upkeep and provide prompt, high-quality customer support.
• Contribute to the development and revision of SOPs, training materials, and maintenance documentation.
• Ensure full compliance with global policies, procedures, and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
• Promote a safety-first, compliant, and collaborative culture
What Skills You Will Need:
• Time-served MAMF Apprenticeship or a Certificate/Diploma in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment (cGMP).
• Strong hands-on experience in preventive and reactive maintenance.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and pneumatic systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer-based maintenance systems.
• Excellent technical communication and problem-solving skills
