Overview: The Transfer Solutions group designs, builds, and operates technology for Mastercard's next-generation payment applications—domestic, Cross-Border, and Bill Payments.
We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to focus on our cross-border payments platform, leading a team of engineers to develop and maintain innovative products for global markets.
The Role: You will lead a team responsible for developing, testing, implementing, documenting, maintaining, and supporting application software systems following Mastercard standards and best practices.
Your responsibilities include:
Designing and delivering detailed solutions for complex technical challenges, guiding implementation.
Providing technical expertise and strategic direction on projects.
Identifying automation and process improvements across the software lifecycle.
Collaborating with architects and product owners to define and prioritize features.
Evaluating technical solutions to meet business needs.
Expanding your technical knowledge and driving innovation.
Leading technical demonstrations and promoting best practices.
Reviewing code, automation, and deliverables for quality.
Mentoring junior engineers and supporting their growth.
All About You: Expertise in Java with Spring Boot, including design patterns and performance optimization.
Experience designing RESTful services and deploying on cloud environments (AWS & PCF).
Knowledge of DevOps, infrastructure as code, and cloud-first development (AWS preferred).
Experience building resilient, scalable distributed systems with databases, messaging, and caching.
Proven record of promoting engineering best practices, including API design, CI, and TDD.
Ability to work independently in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Experience leading scrum teams and resolving technical blockers.
Innovative problem-solving skills.
Self-motivated with a continuous learning mindset.
Strong communication skills.
Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or Engineering.
