Category Sourcing Procurement Lead plays a pivotal role in developing and executing sourcing strategies to leverage enterprise relationships and achieve total value.
This position effectively manages the seven steps of the sourcing process, including spend analysis, market research, supplier due diligence, sourcing strategy, RFX management, bid analysis, contract management, and supplier performance management. Key Responsibilities
1. Work in an agile environment, switching between categories with a large supply base to meet business demands.
2. Identify and evaluate potential suppliers using industry cost models, RFX development and execution, proposal evaluation, total cost of ownership, and supplier selection recommendation.
3. Analyze financial and business data related to supplier proposals and capability assessments to support the development of Verizon's supply base.
4. Develop and manage cross-functional teams, run strategic sourcing processes, negotiate contracts, administer contracts using sourcing systems, supervise supplier performance, analyze financial data, and contribute to business planning and analysis.
5. Lead negotiations on contract terms with suppliers at senior management level and execute contracts in liaison with legal and contract management teams.
6. Create sourcing strategies to acquire materials and services at the right price and quality.
7. Execute supplier relationship management activities for key suppliers within assigned categories.
8. Support the growth of our Supply Chain Management practice by contributing to collateral development and methodology.

Requirements
* Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience in Strategic Sourcing or Procurement.
* Knowledge of legal language and terminologies related to contracting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Master's degree.
* Certifications in CPSM/CPM/CIPS/CSCP.
* Ability to define and develop work products, contribute ideas for improvements, and support engagement in interviews and workshops.
* Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
* Experience with Ariba, SAP, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office applications.
* Ability to lead meetings, conference calls, and deliver presentations to large audiences.
