SALARY RANGE: Starting wage - $35.00/hour
LICENSE: Group Fitness Certification
HOURS/DAY: 1
DAYS/YEAR: Varies, but up to 150

About the Role
Chisago Lakes Community Education is seeking a motivated and energetic Group Fitness Instructor to join our team at the Wildcat Community Center. This role is responsible for leading engaging group fitness classes while promoting a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all participants. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, professionalism, and a passion for helping others achieve their fitness goals. This position supports overall program success by ensuring high-quality instruction, maintaining safety standards, and delivering excellent customer service.
Position Details
• Part-time, year-round position
• Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
• Starting wage: $35/hour
Qualifications
Professional and dependable demeanor
1–3 years of group fitness instruction experience
Current Group Fitness Instructor certification from an accredited program
SilverSneakers Instructor Certification through Tivity Health
Must be at least 18 years of age
Preferred Qualifications
Nationally recognized current First Aid and CPR/AED certification
Job Duties
Plan and lead safe, effective, and engaging group fitness classes tailored to a variety of fitness levels and abilities
Provide clear instruction, demonstrations, and modifications to ensure proper form and participant safety
Create a welcoming and inclusive class environment that encourages participation and member retention
Monitor participants throughout class and adjust intensity or exercises as needed
Build positive relationships with members and provide encouragement, motivation, and support
Ensure all equipment is used safely, set up properly, and returned after class
Maintain awareness of participant health concerns or limitations and respond appropriately
Follow all facility policies, safety guidelines, and emergency procedures
Maintain current certifications and stay up to date with industry best practices
Communicate effectively with staff regarding class attendance, concerns, or program needs
