The position on offer is part time
20 hours per week
The purpose of this role is to provide person-centered support to enable a person with a disability to live as independently as possible. This may include personal care, domestic assistance, social and educational support, companionship, and transportation, tailored to the person's specific needs as outlined in their individual service agreement.
Key Relationships
You will collaborate with the person availing of our services and their family, fellow assistants (if applicable), and relevant Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) staff, including service coordinators and administrative teams.
Duties and Responsibilities
Support the member during medical appointments, meetings, and social events.
Drive the member's vehicle or accompany them as a passenger (where applicable).
Assist with personal care tasks, including showering, grooming, dressing, toileting, and transfers using appropriate equipment (e.g., hoist).
Adhere to all organisational policies and participate in required training, such as manual handling, safeguarding, and health and safety protocols.
Full, clean driver's license required.

Person Specification
Essential Requirements:
Reliable, flexible, and committed to delivering high-quality support.
Fluency in English (spoken and written).
Legal right to work in Ireland
Willingness to undergo Garda vetting and complete mandatory training before commencing work.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
* Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
* Basic knowledge of technology to assist with daily tasks.
QQI Level 5 in Community Health Services, Health Service Skills, or Healthcare Support (or equivalent).

Work Schedule and Hours
2 days per week
The position offers a flexible schedule based on the member's needs. This may include daytime, evening, weekend, and occasional holiday shifts. Specific hours and days will be outlined in the service agreement.
Remuneration and Benefits
Starting rate: € €17.12 per hour (depending on experience).
Premium rates for antisocial hours, Sundays, and public holidays.
Mileage reimbursement for inter-member travel.
