About the Role
This position entails overseeing the planning and delivery of site operations to meet customer requirements and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards. It involves strategic financial management and responsibility for the performance of contracts.
Main Responsibilities:
* Develop a schedule to optimize resource allocation.
* Supervise project managers according to health and safety regulations.
* Create stage-specific health and safety plans based on client-provided preliminary plans.
* Carry out regular inspections of temporary traffic management.
* Ensure supervisors communicate safely about methods, inductions, and work systems to employees, visitors, and contractors.
* Work closely with operational teams to maintain accurate records.
* Monitor surface dressing quality to ensure adherence to standards.
* Coordinate testing and sampling of materials.
* Sourcing raw materials from certified suppliers.
* Appointing pre-approved subcontractors.
* Strategic planning and forecasting.
* Proactive cost management and prompt invoicing submissions.
* Maintaining control over WIP and accruals.
Managerial Roles:
* Oversee direct operational teams across Ireland.
* Enforce safety, environmental, and quality protocols, prioritizing team safety.
* Meet annual revenue and margin targets.
* Grow market share through revenue, tonnage, and product increase.
* Develop capabilities to deliver services nationwide.
* Measure productivity, quality, safety, costs, revenue, and asset management.
* Implement programs for production efficiency improvement.
* Contribute timely tenders.
* Pursue new business opportunities, introduce new products/methodologies, and adapt to changing customer needs.
* Elevate environmental procedures, minimize waste, and foster positive employee relationships.
Requirements:
* Level 8 degree in civil/construction or equivalent qualification.
* Leadership experience in road surfacing/contracting (up to 5 years).
* Knowledge: Contracting, estimating, project management, health & safety, outsourcing.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Analytical problem-solving abilities.
