Overview
Field Service Engineer needed in Kildare, Ireland to support Defect Metrology in a full-time role.
Work closely with senior engineers to install, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate high-precision equipment (defect inspection tools, microscopes, laser systems) in a cleanroom environment.
Interact with customers to deliver scheduled and emergency maintenance, optimize preventative service routines, and ensure peak performance of critical tools.
Includes technical training in the UK and US and travel to customer sites in the UK.
Responsibilities
Install, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate high-precision metrology equipment in a cleanroom environment
Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance on defect inspection tools, microscopes, and laser systems
Engage with customers to provide proactive service and communicate during issue troubleshooting and repairs
Optimize preventative service routines and maintain peak performance of tools
Travel to customer sites in the UK as required
Support all customer requirements including daily handoffs and reporting
Provide on-call support and manage technical escalations using problem-solving documentation
Complete paperwork and administrative functions ahead of deadlines
Must haves
2 years of experience using test equipment such as digital volt meters, oscilloscopes, hand tools, and computers
Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical or Chemistry (or other STEM field) or equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., military or semiconductor industry experience)
Experience with patterned or un-patterned brightfield/darkfield optical defect review systems
Experience with optics and alignments, lasers, mechanical systems, robotics, advanced calibration techniques, electronics, and software
Valid driving license for occasional travel (less than 20% travel)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be eligible for and receive a company credit card
Willingness to travel to the UK and/or US
