What You Will Do
The team in Dublin is seeking a Senior Electrician within our Public Lighting Projects Team.
You will be responsible for leading multiple teams carrying out the installation and maintenance of our Public Lighting projects across the country while maintaining your knowledge of all Health and Safety procedures and ensuring work is delivered within these parameters.
To be successful in this role you must have experience in a similar role installing public lighting.
You will also:
Attend site meetings to plan and coordinate projects.
Act as the lead technical point of contact within the team.
Ensure all teams work in compliance with Irish regulations and local authority standards.
Support the project manager with administrative tasks including timesheets and job numbers, stock requisitions, vehicle mileage forms.
Implement company Health & Safety policies, procedures, and methodologies.
Maintain company vehicles, equipment, tools, and PPE in a serviceable condition.
Provide guidance, training, sharing of job-specific knowledge and experience, and support to all colleagues as required.
Install, maintain, and repair public lighting columns, lanterns, cabling, and control equipment.
Diagnose electrical faults and carry out remedial work on public lighting systems.
Undertake planned and reactive maintenance tasks as scheduled.
Perform periodic inspections and testing in line with ET101 standards and RECI requirements.
Liaise with team members, supervisors, and contractors to coordinate works efficiently.
Record completed work using digital or paper-based systems.
Ensure ISO ***** is being adhered to when operating safely around live traffic and in public areas, working at height, live systems, and road safety protocols.
Ensure all working practices are in accordance with the SWARCO ISO **** & ***** Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental management systems at all times.
Respond to emergency call-outs as required (rotational on-call may apply).
Assist with energy efficiency upgrades and smart lighting technology installations.
Ensure new project work installations are of a high standard and safe working practices are followed whilst working on site.
Work from height using MEWPs and follow all road safety procedures during site operations.
Participate in an emergency call-out rota if required.
Provide technical support to customers and trainees.
Competently liaise with both senior management and customers to discuss problems, issues, programme of works etc.
Be aware of individual contract requirements.
Ensure that any project paperwork is accurate and returned in a timely manner.
Ensure all PPE appropriate to the task and in line with the RAMS is correctly worn.
Ensure your vehicle, tools, spares, and equipment to be used are in a safe and serviceable condition.
Be available to attend training courses and toolbox talks, whether locally or nationally based.
Assist with the on-site development of apprentices.
What We Are Looking For
Essential
Department of Education Leaving Certificate
FETAC Level 6 Electrical Craft Certificate
Experience in a similar role installing public lighting
Experience in leading a team
Ability to work on own and as part of a team
Ability to work at heights
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and on live roads.
Ability to work on a standby / call-out rota.

Full clean B driving licence (C1 or C licence beneficial).

Knowledge of public lighting design and control systems an advantage.
Familiarity with digital work order systems, tablets, or handheld job tracking.
Willingness to learn and undertake new challenges
