Responsibilities
Job purpose
The AML and Compliance Officer will be responsible for ensuring the firm's compliance with applicable Irish and EU regulations, including AML/CFT obligations under the Criminal Justice Act and PSD2 where applicable.
This role will lead the local AML and Compliance function, monitoring regulatory developments and advising the business on AML and Compliance matters.
The individual will also act as the designated MLRO and primary liaison with the Central Bank of Ireland and other competent authorities.

General Duties
Monitoring key regulatory developments/horizon scanning and ensuring timely updates to internal policies
Offering advice, training and guidance on AML and Compliance as required
Providing Board-level reporting on AML and Compliance matters.
Implementation of new regulations and other projects
Analysis and interpretation of relevant laws and regulations, including identifying changes to these that could affect the business
Implementation of suitable AML and Compliance controls to new business initiatives and new products
Continually monitoring and enhancing existing compliance controls
Performing "deep dive" ad hoc monitoring tasks as outlined within the Firm's Financial Crime Prevention Risk Management Framework and Compliance Monitoring Programme ("CMP")
Reviewing and approving financial promotions, where applicable
Providing training to the business on compliance policies and legal obligations, as required
Investigating and resolution of ad hoc queries from regulators, exchanges and other areas of the business
Filing suspicious activity reports to the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau Financial Intelligence Unit ("FIU"), Irish Tax and Customs Revenue Commissioners and other competent authorities or law enforcement agencies as may be required
Making reports required by applicable sanctions laws and regulations to appropriate competent authorities, such as the Central Bank of Ireland; or organise the delegation of this to an appropriately qualified person
Qualifications
Knowledge and Experience:
At least five years' relevant experience
Strong understanding of Financial Crime Prevention requirements in crypto-assets and other virtual currencies
Strong knowledge of applicable regulations e.g. Criminal Justice (Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing), Act, PSD2, MiCAR, MiFID II, FATF Travel Rule, etc
Qualification:
Fluency in business English
University degree/Professional Compliance Qualification
Other European languages would be an advantage
