AMICUS RECRUITMENT has one of the best opportunities for a
Senior Brand Manager
within the FMCG sector - Why? It is the company as simple as that really the brands; their success within the market and their success- quite simply; it is unrivalled.
For this role, the key requirements are to develop sustainable brand plans focusing on promotions and visibility of the brands; keep on top of commercials; work with and influence the sales teams- but you must be commercially savvy to succeed.
Another sell to this position; is the Marketing Controller he is an easy going guy and does not want to hand hold someone- will give you a lot of autonomy-(his pet hate is inaccuracies- inputting wrong information; so being strong on Excel and attention to detail is vital.) but he will give you a lot of support and will push you to grow in the role- a super guy to report too with a lot of experience in the FMCG sector.
The Role
This role will be a full 360 Marketing role; working on high end strategy to POS. In the role you must have the ability to research both quall and quant; develop insights whilst developing brand plans.
You must be commercial and be numbers focused and have a solutions mindset
It is a demanding role; varies by brand- but very much a 360-marketing role. As mentioned, you must be very commercial- is it pursuing with a certain campaign? Do I have the budget; can I justify the spend? so does it make sense to do X or Y? "
A typical day to day will involve the following responsibilities although it will be very much up to you to shape the position
* budget management; liaising with the Brand Owners; working on both ATL and BTL Activations- as well as being responsible for social media-
* you will have a strong budget across the various brands, but you will be responsible for some of the leading Brands and you must be able to justify spend and the why behind it?
* the Sales guys would very much rely on the Brand Managers so gaining
their trust will be important; initially building relationships
with the teams- you will meet with the sales teams bi- monthly but they very much rely on the Marketing teams for advice and what is happening in the marketplace- but very much a collaborative approach.
* You will also work closely with the Category- I placed the Head of Category and the chap is a good guy; personable and smart. You will work on sales analysis by channel; analysing profitability and you will be required to work with production and Finance as well.
I spoke to the Marketing Controller about the position and he said the following about the Senior Brand Manager opportunity within the team "
This is an extremely diverse and challenging role and strong project management; commercial skills and influencing skills are essential not just to succeed in this role but in the company- you have to be deadline driven; be able to handle pressure and meet deadlines- in turn though you will obtain fantastic exposure
** Ideally, the Marketing Controller would like someone has exposure to working on digital- social media; Facebook; Instagram, Twitter. **
