Role & Responsibilities
* Safety First: You will be trained to work safely and correctly, ensuring a secure workplace for all team members on site.
* Waste Management: You will oversee the movement of both hazardous and non-hazardous waste on site, ensuring all waste movements are accurate and compliant with the proper materials and paperwork. You will be the main point of contact for all waste movements.
* Storage and Identification: Ensure correct signage and identification are present at storage locations, and manage the proper storage of waste materials. Handle the organization and preparation of empty receptacles and ensure waste materials are ready for safe transport.
* Waste Registration: Maintain complete and accurate waste registration, ensuring compliance with legal and customer requirements.
* Meetings and Audits: Attend monthly operations and waste-related meetings, participate in site audits, and provide necessary support and information. Advise customers on waste handling procedures and provide training when required. Ensure that inductions, permits, and method statements are signed off for each job.
* Documentation and Monitoring: Audit paperwork regularly, stay updated with SOPs on customer systems, conduct haulier audits, and monitor vendors to ensure their approval.
Experience and Qualifications
* Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification.
* 1-2 years of experience in waste management or relevant sectors such as Pharma, Production, or Petro-Chemical industries.
* Experience or knowledge in chemical handling.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficiency in computer skills, particularly with MS Office.
* Strong team player.
* Forklift license is an advantage.
* Knowledge in areas like DGSA, ADR, or IMDG is beneficial.
