Role Overview
This position involves ensuring that our operations are conducted in a manner that minimizes risks and ensures the health, safety, and well-being of all personnel.
We are seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Officer who will play a key role in developing and implementing policies and procedures to mitigate potential hazards and maintain compliance with relevant legislation.
* The ideal candidate will have experience in conducting risk assessments, outlining safe operational procedures, and leading training sessions for employees on environmental health and safety issues.
* They will also be responsible for performing regular site inspections, recording incidents and accidents, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
* Risk Assessment and Management
* Carry out thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement measures to reduce or eliminate them.
* Develop and implement safe operational procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
* Lead in-house training sessions on environmental health and safety issues, including emergency response planning and hazard recognition.
* Incident Investigation and Reporting
* Investigate incidents and accidents promptly and thoroughly, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
* Prepare reports on incident findings, providing recommendations for improvement and implementation of mitigation strategies.
* Compliance and Governance
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing environmental health and safety.
* Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, reporting any non-compliance issues to management.
* Communication and Collaboration
* Foster open communication with employees, contractors, and other stakeholders on environmental health and safety matters.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective solutions to identified hazards and concerns.
