Our client is modernising a large-scale transaction processing platform from a legacy monolithic architecture into a cloud-native, event-driven platform built on microservices and AWS.The platform processes high-volume, business-critical transactions across multiple domains and engineering teams. We are looking for a senior engineering-quality leader to define and drive platform-wide quality strategy across distributed systems operating at production scale.This is not a traditional QA management role.We are looking for someone with strong technical depth in distributed systems, event-driven architectures, non-functional testing, and platform modernisation.What You’ll DoOwn platform-level quality strategy across multiple engineering teamsDefine validation approaches for distributed systems and event-driven workflowsLead end-to-end validation across microservices and asynchronous processing pipelinesDefine approaches for resilience, failover, scalability, and production-scale performance testingDrive migration and parity validation between legacy and modern platformsBuild shared tooling, quality frameworks, synthetic data strategies, and reusable validation capabilitiesEmbed quality controls into CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native delivery workflowsIdentify integration risks and failure scenarios across domain boundariesWork closely with engineering teams to improve observability, tracing, and production quality indicatorsProvide clear quality readiness evidence for major releases and platform migrationsWhat We’re Looking ForExperience validating distributed systems or event-driven architectures at scaleStrong understanding of Kafka, asynchronous processing, or event-stream based systemsExperience with non-functional testing including performance, resilience, scalability, failover, or high-volume validationBackground in platform modernisation, migration, or legacy replacement programmesExperience validating end-to-end transaction integrity or data parity across systemsStrong understanding of APIs, microservices, and integration patternsExperience working within cloud-native environments (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD)Ability to influence multiple engineering teams without direct authorityStrong systems-thinking mindset with focus on platform behaviour and operational reliability
