Chef Recruiters are working with a well-established and high-volume client in Galway who are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Sous Chef to take a key leadership role in their kitchen team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven chef who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to bring fresh ideas to a dynamic culinary operation.
This Galway-based restaurant operates seven days a week, offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner – with this role focused primarily on the dinner and evening service.

About the Role:
As Senior Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to manage all day-to-day kitchen operations while supporting, mentoring, and developing the wider kitchen team. You’ll play a key role in maintaining high culinary standards, ensuring smooth service, and contributing to menu development and innovation.
You’ll also be expected to take the lead and confidently run the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence, ensuring consistency, quality, and team coordination are upheld at all times.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Senior Sous Chef in a high-volume kitchen environment
* Strong kitchen leadership and team management skills
* Ability to train, mentor, and build a motivated kitchen team
* Experience with grill and seafood preparation is essential
* Previous background in a gastro pub or modern casual dining setting is highly desirable
* Flexibility to work a varied roster, primarily focused on evening shifts
