Byrne Wallace Shields LLP is one of Ireland's largest full service law firms. We are a forward thinking law firm and are currently recruiting for a Paralegal to join our firm in the Galway office.
This role will involve supporting solicitors across a range of practice areas, depending on departmental needs. The nature of such work will vary depending on the practice area and is suited to a dynamic individual who is seeking to work cross-departmentally.
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities will include the following:
* Taking instructions from solicitors.
* Assistance with general office admin including collection and drop off of DX or post, updating safe register.
* Attending to court filings and court as required.
* Carry out legal research on cases as assigned.
* Assist in the preparation and collation of briefs of documents required for completion of corporate or conveyancing transactions.
* Provide support for all administration tasks as required, including photocopying, scanning, filing of documents, dictations / typing.
* Assistance with post completion filings and general handling of files post completion.
* Releasing title documents and scheduling title documents.

* Previous experience in within a legal environment/ experience in a busy office environment
* An ability to work effectively as part of a team
* A proactive individual who takes pride in their work
* Excellent attention to detail
* Ability to deliver high quality work in an efficient manner
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Proficient in MS Office suite
* A high level of motivation and an ability to act on one's own initiative.
Academic/Professional Qualification Requirements
* Diploma in Legal Studies/ previous experience in a legal environment or a busy office environment
