Maintain clinical competence in the management of people with dementia, keeping up-to-date with relevant research to ensure the implementation of evidence based practice. Responsible to meet the aims of dementia/cognitive impairment care within the residential home. Ensure that all interventions in response to non-cognitive symptoms of dementia are reviewed regularly, and demonstrably inform leaning and practice development. Foster positive relationships with residents and their families, providing emotional support and guidance throughout their dementia journey. Serve as an advocate for residents, ensuring their voices are heard and their preferences are respected in all aspects of care delivery. Participate in ongoing education and training initiatives to stay abreast of advancements in dementia care and nursing practice. Contribute to the development and implementation of dementia-friendly initiatives within the organization. Exceptional empathy and communication skills, with the ability to connect with residents and their families on a personal level. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities, with a focus on person-centered care. Flexibility, adaptability, and a positive attitude towards challenges and opportunities in dementia care. Qualifications Essential: A registered General Nurse or Psychiatric Nurse on the Register of Nurses held by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland or be entitled to be so registered. Evidence of continuous professional development.
