The role of Assistant Facilities Manager is a crucial position within our hospital, requiring an individual who can effectively oversee daily maintenance and upkeep. This includes managing relationships with the facilities maintenance team and external contractors to ensure seamless operations.

Key responsibilities involve supervising front-of-house service teams, working closely with catering and housekeeping supervisors to maintain an exceptional service standard. The post holder will also be responsible for line management of porters, housekeeping staff, and catering staff, as well as overseeing daily working patterns for the Front of House team to meet operational needs.


Operational Responsibilities

* Manage daily maintenance and upkeep of the hospital, collaborating with the facilities maintenance team and external contractors.
* Supervise front-of-house service teams, fostering collaboration with catering and housekeeping supervisors to uphold high service standards.
* Line manage porters, housekeeping staff, and catering staff, ensuring effective team performance.
* Oversight of daily working patterns for the Front of House team to meet operational demands.


Management and Monitoring

* Responsible for supervision of employees assigned by the Facilities Manager, promoting a culture of excellence.
* Manage absence in accordance with hospital policy, ensuring continuity of service.
* Conduct performance management reviews as required, driving employee development and growth.
* Monitor and address staff-related concerns/issues in line with organisational policy.


Quality and Safety

* Foster a safe work environment, prioritising quality and safety throughout daily activities.
* Collaborate with your line manager to develop, monitor, analyse, and improve quality programmes.
* Participate in the development of key performance indicators, aligning with departmental objectives.
* Evaluate audits according to hospital requirements, identifying areas for improvement.
