The Buttery is a vibrant, welcoming restaurant known for its warm hospitality, seasonal menus, and quality local produce. We pride ourselves on creating memorable dining experiences in a relaxed yet professional atmosphere. We are now seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Floor Supervisor to join our management team and help lead our front-of-house operations.
About the Role
As a Floor Supervisor, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the restaurant floor. You'll support the management team in maintaining high service standards, coordinating the floor team, and ensuring smooth service across all sittings. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong leadership skills and a genuine passion for hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise daily front-of-house operations and ensure efficient service flow.
* Lead and support the floor team during service, maintaining exceptional guest service.
* Liaise with kitchen and bar teams to ensure seamless communication.
* Manage bookings, table plans, and walk-ins, ensuring optimal seating flow.
* Monitor staff performance and provide on-the-job coaching and feedback.
* Assist in opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and reporting.
* Maintain restaurant cleanliness and presentation to brand standards.
* Handle guest queries, feedback, and complaints professionally.
* Ensure compliance with health & safety and food hygiene regulations.
* Support in training and developing team members.
Skills & Experience
* Minimum 1–2 years' experience in a supervisory or senior front-of-house role.
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
* Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
* Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanour.
* A passion for great food, drink, and customer service.
* Experience with restaurant booking systems (ResDiary experience a plus).
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
