The post-holder will focus on mapping the engagement of people affected by rare diseases in clinical research. This involves both local and international collaborations.
They will seek and share information, communicating with a diverse range of stakeholders to promote participation in rare disease research.
As a primary point of contact for patients and families participating in clinical trials, they will develop material that supports their trial journey.
In collaboration with senior colleagues, they will highlight strategic projects within a diverse portfolio, supporting a collaborative research environment.
The role requires excellent interpersonal skills, including effective communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship building.
This is a unique opportunity to work in partnership with patients and families living with rare diseases, academic and clinical colleagues, professional support teams, community groups, and industrial collaborators.
The post-holder will be based at a leading public health centre in Belfast.
This is a part-time position, 18 hours per week.
To be successful in this role, the candidate must have a primary degree in a relevant subject or substantial relevant experience in community outreach.
They should also have recent, relevant experience working in a multidisciplinary clinical or translational research environment.
Experience in communicating scientific and medical information, recruiting and retaining research participants, and producing effective communications are essential.
This fixed-term contract is available for 24 months.
