About This Position
This role is based in Waterford, Ireland, on a 4-cycle shift pattern. As a shift-based engineer, you will provide support for high-volume, automated contact lens manufacturing equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Diagnose and correct line detractors to support operations.
* Liaise with the Operations team to coordinate resources aligned with shift priorities.
* Work with Subject Matter Experts to identify and eliminate yield, cycle time, and uptime detractors.
* Implement improvements under change control.
* Role model good safety and quality behaviors.
* Support on-shift NC/CAPA and quality investigations.
* Develop relevant engineering documentation, including work instructions, SOPs, validations, and engineering studies.
Requirements
* A Level 8 degree in automation engineering, computer science, electronic engineering, or equivalent.
* A working knowledge of electrics, electronics, pneumatics, PLCs, and vision systems.
* Experience with high-volume automation in a GMP environment is an advantage.
