GTS has successful, ongoing initiatives focused on Performance improvement, Quality improvement and the environment.The GTS Process Manager will advise, challenge and assist cement process performance across the CRH cement plant portfolio. They will recommend operational and industrial process improvements to the Opco Plant management teams to improve efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability and maximize profitability. This position will report to the Process Lead.Key Tasks and ResponsibilitiesMake sure that the work delivered in process area corresponds to higher value for CRHDemonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areasSupport plants in troubleshootingAnalyse Plant operations and propose Process Improvement recommendations including Cost/Benefit AnalysisUndertake benchmarking studies and process audits to identify both weak and successful practicesCoordinate performance tests on operating plant systems to determine the efficiencies of the equipmentProvide assistance to management to ensure Plants operate within environmental and quality performance regulationsPrepare reports on the process improvement initiativesContribute to knowledge sharing within CRH. Keep updated on the latest technology in the process areas (raw material preparation, grinding and pyroprocessing)Educate, train and develop process staff in the plantsAssist project teams on process design for CAPEX projectsLead major main equipment commissioning when neededTake part in Due Diligence activities when neededKey StakeholdersCRH GTS Process & Performance DirectorCRH Cement Plant ManagersCRH Cement Plant Production, Process & Quality ManagersLeadership competenciesDrives Results: CRH Cement Plants should be high performing units with high equipment availability at optimum production rates. Finds the best creative solutions for process improvements and actively moves them into implementation.Key functional competenciesSelf-starter with strong attention to detailStrong leadership and communication skillsStrong organizational skills and self-managementStrategic vision with sound technical and analytical skillsGood judgment and strong operational focusForward-thinking and creativeHigh ethical standards and ability to present themselves professionallyGood cost awareness in terms of business economicsAbility to take decision in complex and international environmentKnow-how and application information technologyExperience & Educational RequirementsUniversity degree (Bachelor/Master) in engineering (Mining, Process, Mechanical, Chemistry)Minimum 15 years' experience in cement manufacturing with experience in Cement plants and in Central/Support functionExcellent understanding of cement production processes: Pyro processing & GrindingSolid background in Process DesignAbility to challenge local operation teams & managers in terms of performance and productivityHave experience in cement plant commissioning roleExperience with process measurement tools and techniques is essentialVery good understanding of clinker chemistry and mineralogyHigh level of knowledge and determination to support cost leadershipGood overview of the vendor business world in Production/Process areaExcellent English language skillsMust be able to work independently and with groups.
