PFH Technology is currently recruiting for an experienced Level 3 Systems Administrator to join our team supporting a key client based in Cork. This role will involve leading a team of support engineers while providing advanced infrastructure, systems administration, and technical support services within a fast-paced enterprise environment.The successful candidate will act as a senior escalation point for the IT support team, ensuring high-quality service delivery, strong customer engagement, and adherence to operational standards and IT governance processes.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Systems Administrator or Senior Support Engineer seeking progression within a dynamic ICT services environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as the primary escalation point and technical lead for the IT support team.Lead and mentor a team of IT Support Engineers providing Level 2 support services.Manage support case volumes, ticket backlogs, escalations, and service delivery priorities.Work closely with the support team to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.Ensure seamless delivery of IT support services while maintaining high customer service standards.Ensure all procedures, workflows, operational processes, and IT policies are followed consistently.Maintain and support Windows Server environments, storage systems, backups, and Local Area Network (LAN) technologies.Administer and support Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory environments.Support client hardware environments including desktop rollouts, upgrades, hardware repairs, and network printers.Perform system monitoring, maintenance activities, and scheduled backups.Review and maintain IT operational and process documentation.Support database administration and maintenance activities.Gather business and technical requirements and provide suitable technical recommendations and solutions.Act as a key onsite contact for all IT-related queries and escalations.Ensure all IT security policies and compliance standards are implemented and adhered to at all times.Required Skills & ExperienceMinimum 4+ years’ experience in Systems Administration or enterprise IT support environments.Previous team lead or supervisory experience is highly desirable.Strong experience supporting Windows Server environments including Server 2008 / 2012.Excellent knowledge of Windows 10 installations, support, and troubleshooting.Experience supporting Microsoft Exchange 2010 / 2013 and Active Directory environments.Strong understanding of storage technologies, SAN environments, networking, and infrastructure support.Experience supporting VMware virtualised environments.Knowledge of backup technologies and disaster recovery processes.Experience supporting end-user hardware, desktop deployments, upgrades, and printer support.Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Excellent documentation and report-writing capabilities.Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality technical solutions and support services.Experience working within structured ITIL or managed services environments would be advantageous.Business CompetenciesExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities.Customer-focused with the ability to empathise with end users and support user adoption of new technologies.Highly organised with strong time management and prioritisation skills.Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem solving and ownership.Ability to engage professionally with stakeholders across technical and business teams.EducationThird-Level Qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline is preferable.Relevant Microsoft, VMware, or Infrastructure certifications would be advantageous.
