The Design, Technical, Electrical & Commissioning Engineer is responsible for the design, technical support, installation oversight, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems across projects. The role bridges design engineering and site execution, ensuring systems are safe, compliant, efficient, and fully operational from concept through handover.Key ResponsibilitiesCommissioningElectrical Design & EngineeringDevelop electrical designs, schematics, single-line diagrams, layouts, and specifications.Perform load calculations, cable sizing, protection coordination, and equipment selection.Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, codes, and regulations (e.g. IEC, BS, IEEE, NEC, local codes).Review and approve technical submittals, shop drawings, and vendor documentation.Support value engineering and design optimization.Technical SupportProvide technical guidance to project teams, site engineers, and contractors.Troubleshoot design and installation issues during construction and commissioning.Coordinate with mechanical, civil, automation, and instrumentation disciplines.Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, FATs, and technical meetings.Installation & Site SupervisionOversee electrical installation works to ensure compliance with approved designs and specifications.Conduct site inspections, progress checks, and quality audits.Verify correct installation of panels, cabling, earthing, lighting, power systems, and control systems.Testing & CommissioningPrepare commissioning plans, procedures, and method statements.Lead or support testing and commissioning of electrical systems, including:Power distribution systemsSwitchgear and protection systemsMotors, drives, and MCCsUPS, generators, and backup systemsEarthing and lightning protection systemsWitness and review test results, identify defects, and ensure corrective actions.Support system energization and performance verification.Documentation & HandoverPrepare and review commissioning reports, test records, and as-built documentation.Support client inspections, handover, and final acceptance.Ensure all deliverables meet project and regulatory requirements.Health, Safety & QualityComply with all HSE policies and promote safe working practices.Ensure electrical works meet quality standards and project specifications.Participate in risk assessments and method statement reviews.Qualifications & ExperiencePreferably a qualified Electrician with field work experience or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.2-5 years of experience in electrical design and commissioning.Strong knowledge of electrical systems, standards, and best practices.Experience working on industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects.Familiarity with commissioning procedures and site activities.Skills & CompetenciesStrong technical and analytical skills.Ability to read and produce electrical drawings and specifications.Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.Good communication and coordination skills.Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.Willingness to travel to project sites as required.Experience with HV/LV systems.Knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, or automation systems.Job Type:Full TimeSalary:€60,000 – €80,000 depending on experience
