We are on a journey to grow the business with an operating model that brings technology and business together in agile, end-to-end accountable units.As General Counsel, you will be a key member of the Leadership Squad, providing expert legal and regulatory advice and oversight to ensure compliance with industry regulations and to mitigate legal risks as the business scales.Key Roles and ResponsibilitiesDevelop and deliver strategies related to Legal and Regulatory Compliance for Three Ireland, advising the Leadership Squad on key strategic legal and regulatory risks impacting the wider business.Oversee critical legal activities across all functions including commercial negotiations and contracts, IP, litigation, strategic alliances and partnerships, network supply agreements and outsourcing contracts; ensure functions capture, understand and mitigate risks in a timely manner.Develop and implement Three Ireland’s compliance strategy to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including telecommunications, data protection and consumer and end user protection.Develop and implement Three Ireland’s regulatory strategy, align with business objectives, and engage proactively with policymakers and statutory stakeholders; advise and represent the Leadership Squad on regulatory trends and issues.Lead the management of regulatory risks related to policy initiatives by ComReg, Data Protection Commission and Coimisiún na Meán.Provide strong leadership across the legal and regulatory team, ensuring team development and high performance.In partnership with Talent Acquisition, develop a resourcing plan for the legal function to build and maintain talent pipelines.Play a key role in broader business decision making and strategy development as a member of the Leadership Squad.Advise on corporate governance matters including directors’ duties, compliance with corporate legislation, maintaining statutory books, and arranging directors’ meetings.Candidate Requirements, Knowledge and ExperienceExperience as a senior legal/regulatory advisor (ideally in a General Counsel or equivalent role) for a company of similar size with consumer and business product offerings.Significant experience in a cross-functional leadership team supporting broad business decision making.Experience operating in a similar regulatory environment with a strong track record of managing compliance and partnering with business teams to mitigate risks.Experience engaging with regulators and stakeholders on evolving regulatory and legal strategies and policies.Expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts, including service and vendor agreements.Experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, including assessing legal and commercial implications of expanding into new markets.Familiarity with best practices in corporate governance, including board responsibilities, ethics, and compliance.Critical Success Factors / Capabilities / CompetenciesLeading others: Engage, align and empower teams in an agile, fast-paced environment.Shaping strategy: Influence governmental and statutory policy.Thinking commercially: Apply deep commercial understanding to drive business goals using data and insight.Influencing collaboratively: Guide and work with others to drive outcomes.Benefits of Working at ThreeFlexible hybrid working model with three days per week in the office.Competitive salary, annual performance bonus and pension contribution.Annual Leave buy/sell option (up to 5 days per year).Healthcare insurance via flexible benefits programme.Access to learning & development tools (e.g., Coursera).Free on-site parking.There’s more to us than meets the eye.There’s a lot more to us than meets the eye.
