About this Role
A leading food manufacturer in Longford is seeking a Deputy Quality Manager to support the Quality Manager in maintaining and improving site-wide food safety and quality standards.
* Support and maintain Quality Management Systems, Food Safety Management Systems, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points, and Good Manufacturing Practices systems.
* Act as site lead during audits and inspections, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Lead the QA team in the absence of the Quality Manager, driving process improvements and continuous development.
* Manage internal audits, non-conformance investigations, and customer complaints, escalating issues to senior management as necessary.
* Own and manage Pest Control and Cleaning/Hygiene Programs, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
* Work collaboratively with Production, Engineering, and R&D teams to drive cross-functional initiatives and optimize processes.
* Lead, train, and support a team of 4 QA Technicians, promoting a culture of food safety and quality excellence.
Requirements
* Degree in Food Science or related field.
* 5+ years' experience in food manufacturing quality roles, with a proven track record of delivering results.
* Strong knowledge of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points, British Retail Consortium Global Standard, food safety legislation, and retailer standards.
* Skilled in audits, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
