**EHR Laboratory Team Lead Position Summary**
This leadership role is pivotal in supporting the Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementation across Ireland. As a skilled laboratory professional, you will lead the implementation of key laboratory applications, including Pathology / Laboratory + BloodTrack Integration capabilities.
You will play a crucial part in ensuring system functionality aligns with laboratory staff and workflow requirements, providing strategic and tactical leadership for the Laboratory workstream. This is an ideal opportunity for a laboratory expert who understands the intersections of laboratory operations and health IT systems.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for delivering the new EHR Laboratory Workstream within UPMC Ireland, implementing the programme within the project scope and governance, and establishing a project team and allocating responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Implementing Laboratory Applications:
o Lead the implementation of key laboratory applications, including Pathology / Laboratory + BloodTrack Integration capabilities.
o Collaborate with clinical and technical teams to support end-to-end clinical integrity across modules.
* Laboratory Workflow Design:
o Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for laboratory-related functions in MEDITECH.
o Collaborate with MEDITECH analysts and operational leaders to design and validate laboratory workflows within MEDITECH Expanse.
* Implementation Support:
o Oversee laboratory system configuration, data migration validation, and integration with existing or planned enterprise platforms and analysers where applicable.
o Lead testing activities for laboratory modules, including integrated and user acceptance testing (UAT).
* Documentation & Governance:
o Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
o Support governance processes by preparing materials for senior management meetings.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required skills and qualifications include:
* Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field.
* Registration with CORU.
* Minimum 3 years of experience in clinical laboratory operations, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
* Minimum 2 years of experience supporting or leading system implementations (preferably MEDITECH or similar ERP/EHR platforms).
