Job Overview
NHS Fife Psychology is a large, friendly and supportive department that services the whole of Fife and includes all the major clinical specialties. We have an excellent reputation for innovation and developing staff. We are looking to recruit a 1 x WTE Assistant Psychologist to work in the Psychological Interventions in Psychosis (PIP) Team. The PIP team is a specialist psychology team that consists of 2.8 WTE qualified clinical psychologists. The team is Fife‑wide and works with individuals who have experiences of psychosis and associated psychological therapy needs. The PIP team receives most of its referrals from NHS Fife CMHTs, outpatient psychiatry, inpatient mental health ward teams, and from the community rehabilitation team. The PIP team works closely with our referral partners but is not embedded within the CMHTs or the acute inpatient ward teams. In PIP we offer a range of psychological therapy approaches including CBTp, CFTp, BFT, ACT and mindfulness‑based interventions.
The PIP team allocates dedicated psychology time to the Mental Health Rehabilitation service. That service works with individuals with complex psychosis presentations and consists of a 10‑bedded inpatient ward and a community rehabilitation team. The PIP team has one psychologist embedded in the MH rehabilitation ward MDT and additional psychology time allocated to support the community rehabilitation team.
Responsibilities
Support the clinical psychologists working in the PIP team.
Conduct psychological assessment and deliver low‑intensity interventions under supervision (group and individual).
Carry out service audit activities.
Support training and file reviews to aid psychological formulations and forensic risk assessments.
Work across community settings and the inpatient rehabilitation ward.
Collaborate closely with other members of the MH rehabilitation multidisciplinary teams and community support providers (e.g. social care teams) to support the delivery of psychologically informed care.
Requirements
Become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
Demonstrate right to work in the United Kingdom through the appropriate visa, EU settled or pre‑settled status or other UK immigration routes.
