Due to continued growth, we are recruiting for a Group Head of Health, Safety & Environment to be based at our Head Office in Newry.
We are looking for a strategic leader to drive our health, safety, and sustainability agenda across England, Isle of Man and Northern Ireland.
Key Responsibilities of the Group Head of Health, Safety & Environment will include: Lead and implement health & safety strategy across all branches and operational regions.
Conduct audits and risk assessments to ensure safe working practices and legal compliance.
Investigate incidents and near misses, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
Deliver health & safety training programs and promote a safety-first culture.
Drive sustainability initiatives, including carbon reduction and waste minimisation.
Report to senior leadership on performance metrics and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will possess the following attributes: Extensive experience (7+ years) in health and safety leadership roles, preferably in a multi-site, multi-country setting.
Relevant qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma, ISO *****).
Proven ability to implement and manage health and safety systems across complex operational environments.
Strong practical knowledge of safety legislation.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience within the builders merchanting or construction materials sector is highly desirable.
Ability to travel internationally as required.
