The role
Overview
The Buyer is a strategic operational position that supports the successful delivery of complex ICT and data centre infrastructure projects. The role combines procurement expertise, supply chain coordination, commercial negotiation, and project collaboration within a high-growth, mission-critical technology/ICT and Security sector.
Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing
Source suppliers for electrical, mechanical, ICT, security, and power infrastructure components
Obtain and evaluate quotations
Negotiate pricing, lead times, and commercial terms
Raise purchase orders and track procurement schedules
Build and maintain relationships with approved suppliers
Evaluate supplier performance on quality, cost, and reliability
Coordinate with vendors regarding logistics and delivery updates
Support supplier onboarding and compliance checks
Project Coordination
Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, Commercial teams and Logistics teams
Ensure procurement aligns with Project milestones
Cost Control
Identify cost-saving opportunities and record them on the tracker
Reduce procurement risk through strategic sourcing
Inventory & Logistics
Track materials movement to site locations and provide support to Logistics for the safe arrival of materials
Manage urgent or critical procurement requests
Mitigate risk caused by shortages or late deliveries
Compliance & Documentation
Ensure adherence to Health & Safety standards, Sustainability incentives and policies, Procurement procedures, and Contractual obligations
Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting for ISO purposes
Technical Skills
Procurement systems (ERP/MRP) Exact preferred
Microsoft Excel, Word and Google Sheets experience
Supply chain coordination
