Facilities Technician Role Overview
The Facilities Technician is a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of plant buildings, maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for occupants.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Conduct regular inspections to maintain building integrity and perform minor repairs as required.
* Respond promptly to urgent maintenance issues, such as leaks or damaged infrastructure.
* Perform daily/weekly checks on building systems, including HVAC, water treatment, and fire protection systems.
* Coordinate with external contractors for specialized support services.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
* Participate in cross-skilling training and other job-related development opportunities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* 5+ years relevant work experience and trade qualification in a similar role.
* General building repair, plumbing, and carpentry skills.
* Knowledge of engineering principles of plant equipment.
* Strong planning and organizational ability.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Computer Literacy: Proficiency in using Microsoft Windows and MS Office suite of products.
