Community Rehabilitation Assistant

We are recruiting for a Community Rehabilitation Assistant to work across our South West Dublin, Kildare & West Wicklow community. This is a Specified Purpose, Part-Time, 19.5 hours contract.
The starting salary for this role is €29,417 - Depending on Experience (DOE).
At Acquired Brain Injury Ireland, we provide community-based residential rehabilitation services to people living with brain injury in Ireland. Our mission is to serve and empower those impacted by brain injury through personalised rehabilitation and advocacy.
Role Overview:
The Community Rehabilitation Assistant plays a vital role in supporting individuals with acquired brain injury on all aspects of daily life activities, enabling them to live valued lives of optimal independence and participation in the community.
With a person-centred approach, our specialists assist each individual in planning and directing their lives, meeting the needs identified in their individual plan and supporting meaningful outcomes in conjunction with their overall needs. This includes integrating more fully into the community and achieving their potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Form a rapport with persons served and maintain a positive, constructive, professional relationship.
* Undertake the role of Keyworker as required.
* Provide support to achieve the goals set out in Individual Rehabilitation Plans (IRPs).
* Improve quality of life by developing, encouraging, and supporting the activities of daily living, including personal care.
* Encourage family, personal, and neighbourhood relationships and interactions.
* Develop strategies to maximise the ability of the person, build coping mechanisms for daily living, and promote independence.
* Work with persons served to ensure they need as little support as possible in the future.
Essential Criteria:
* A relevant Health or Social Care qualification to a minimum of QQI level 5 standard.
* A full driving licence with access to own vehicle.
* A person-centred approach to supporting people with an acquired brain injury.
* Excellent inter-personal and communication skills.
* Must be able to write and speak English to a high standard.
* Good IT skills.
Desirable Criteria:
* Previous experience supporting people in the community.
* Previous experience of working in an area of disability.
* Previous experience of working with people who present with challenging behaviour.
