Regulatory Operations Lead
Dublin, Ireland | Hybrid | Reports to COO | Full time, permanent
This is not a compliance role. This is a build the system role.
We design the aircraft, build the software, run the flight operations, and work directly with the aviation authority to make advanced unmanned aircraft operations a reality across Ireland.
We are now looking for the person who can connect all of that together.
Someone who can take emerging aircraft capability, evolving regulation, and fast moving software development, and turn it into operational systems, approvals, and evidence that scale.
If you have ever been frustrated that product teams do not understand operational reality, that operations are bolted on after software is built, or that evidence for approvals is always assembled at the last minute, this role exists to fix that.
What you will actually be doing
You will act as the operational and regulatory customer for our Software Product and Engineering teams. You will:
* Turn regulatory intent into clear, testable software requirements
* Design the process assets and evidence needed for Operational Authorisations
* Create the pathway from product change to operational artefacts to regulator ready submission
* Build change management and document control that works in practice, not just in theory
* Work directly with the aviation authority to drive new and amended approvals
* Lay the operational foundations that allow Irish flight operations to scale safely and predictably
Over time, strong performance in this role can grow into Regional Operations Director, with accountability for Irish operational delivery, staffing, rostering, training frameworks, operational control, and regulator relationships.
What success looks like in the first 12 to 18 months
* Operational approvals move smoothly from design change to regulator submission with minimal rework
* Software teams treat operational constraints as core product requirements
* Evidence is captured as part of normal workflows rather than assembled after the fact
* Document and change control systems scale with the organisation
* A realistic and operator ready plan exists for scaling Irish flight operations
You will thrive here if you
* Have built or supported Operational Authorisations or safety cases in aviation or UAS
* Understand SORA or similar methods and how mitigations translate into procedures, training, and system limits
* Can translate operational reality into requirements, acceptance criteria, and verification plans
* Have designed or run document control and change management in a regulated environment
* Are comfortable creating structure where regulation is still developing
* Enjoy working across engineering, software, operations, and regulators to make things actually work
Experience with BVLOS operations, Network Operations Centre concepts, or safety critical software environments is highly advantageous.
Why this role is rare
Most aviation roles sit in compliance.
Most product roles sit in software.
Most operations roles sit in day to day delivery.
This role sits across all three and shapes how they work together as the organisation scales.
You will not be maintaining a system.
You will be designing the one we scale on.
Benefits
* Competitive salary and equity
* Pension and paid leave
* Training and professional development budget, including regulatory programmes
* Equipment provided
* Hybrid working with travel to operational sites as required
